About The Help Den

I'm Mairéad — I help small business owners get out of the weeds and back to the work they love.
Mairéad Agnew
(Pronounced Mah-rade)
A Bit About Me
Originally from County Antrim, I now live in Surrey with my husband and two boys — a busy household where sport, the outdoors, and community are what keep us going.
Outside of work, you'll find me coaching youth Gaelic Football, cheering from the sidelines, or at our local allotment. In 2018 I founded a Netball Club that's grown into something special — bringing women together in a way that extends well beyond the court. I also led a project to install free-to-use netball courts in our village, because access shouldn't depend on circumstance.
In 2024, that community work was recognised when I was shortlisted for the Sutton Community Awards Outstanding Health and Wellbeing Award.
Some of my best thinking happens on morning runs. There's something about the rhythm and the headspace — it helps me solve problems in life and in business.
I mention all of this because it matters professionally. Building a club from scratch, running community projects, coordinating people and logistics over years — that's not just a hobby, that's the same instinct I bring to your business.
Come find me on LinkedIn and Instagram — I share a mix of business tips, behind the scenes, and the occasional running or allotment update.
The experience behind the work
I bring 15+ years as an Executive Assistant and 20+ years in administration, alongside a Higher National Diploma in Business Management. But credentials only mean something in context.
I've worked across healthcare, hospitality, automotive, food & beverage, retail, and construction — with brands including Abel & Cole, Hilton, and Auto Trader. Different sectors, same fundamentals. That cross-sector perspective means I'm not solving your problems with a single template — I'm bringing angles from industries you may never have thought to look at.
I specialise in marketing support and LinkedIn management for small businesses — and I handle the operational and admin side too, so you're not managing multiple people.
I'm your Online Business Manager and Virtual Assistant—handling both strategy and execution so nothing falls through the cracks. With a particular focus on marketing strategy and LinkedIn — two areas where small businesses consistently leave time and opportunity on the table.

Marketing & LinkedIn — a specialist focus
Many small businesses know they should be more visible on LinkedIn but never quite get there. I help you build a consistent, professional presence — from profile optimisation and content strategy to day-to-day posting and engagement — without it taking over your week.
Why Work With Me?
I bring the same values to your business that I do to my community work: loyalty, reliability, and genuine investment in the outcome.
Discretion as standard
Discretion and trust aren't buzzwords for me — they're non-negotiable. I've spent years being the person people count on, whether that's on the netball court or in the boardroom.
Strategy meets execution
I bring both high-level thinking and meticulous attention to detail. You shouldn't have to choose between someone who plans and someone who does.
A real partner
When we work together, you get more than tasks ticked off. You get someone who's genuinely in your corner — thinking about your business even when you're not in the room.
Cross-sector perspective
Fresh angles matter. Working across multiple industries means I'm not solving your challenges with a one-size-fits-all approach.
Giving Back
Community isn't just something I talk about, it's something I actively support. Through pro bono work with local nonprofits and community groups, I use my skills to help organisations focused on health, wellbeing, and environmental impact.
In 2025, I began supporting JogOn, a national campaign to remove 1 million pairs of shoes from UK landfill. I'm helping spread the word about the campaign and collecting shoes to send their way and continuing that support into 2026.
If you're a community group or nonprofit doing meaningful work, let's talk about how I can help.
